Anita and Manu Sharma share their knowledge and experience in the practice of Ayurveda, Yoga, Ayurvedic cooking, breathing, various Ayurvedic treatments and more through their classes offered to both aspiring Ayurvedic professionals, for home use and personal development at the Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness.

Professional Courses

The Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness offers many courses for professional use welcoming seasoned practitioners as well as newcomers. These courses are recognized by the National Association of Naturopaths.

These courses include the full programs to become an Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner as well as perfecting courses for current Ayurvedic practitioners and consultants, as well as Yoga instructors and Ayurvedic therapists.

Personal Development Courses

The collection of Personal Development Courses offered address spiritual growth, Ayurvedic cooking, lifestyle courses and introductions to Ayurveda and Yoga.

These courses are designed for everyone interested to bring the spirit of Ayurveda home and integrate some of the principles into their daily lives.

Seminars

The seminars offered by Anita and Manu range in topics from Ayurvedic seasonal adaptations to themed seminars such as anger management, sleep quality, happiness and many more.


Course information

The certified and accredited professional program offered by the Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness contain all the courses needed from the full Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner course to each of the treatments needed to offer all the services of an Ayurvedic wellness centre. The professional courses include internships and case studies. Participants for the professional courses must be 18 years and older and have successfully completed high school.

The Personal Development program offers courses for one’s personal use axed on understanding our own constitution and how to address our needs through Ayurvedic methods for people simply wishing to learn and improve their lives and taking care of themselves.

In addition to the courses offered, Anita and Manu offer themed seminars and special events on Ayurvedic living. Seminar programs range from anger management, to self-love and seasonal Ayurvedic tips. 

All certified courses are registered with the NAN Association of Quebec.


Professional courses:

Each certified course are admissible credits to the NAN and go towards the certificate of Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner (1,000 hours). Additional perfecting courses are also offered.

All study material and required reading material costs are not included in the tuition fees of each course.

All required readings, homework assignments, successful completion of tests and exams as well as an above 85% of attendance are required for completion of any of the professional courses.

The Institute of Ayurveda and Wellness offer 8 professional courses:

  1. Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner 1 and 2 (1000 hours)

  2. Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner 3 (500 hours)

  3. Ayurvedic Wellness Practitioner 4 (500 hours)

  4. Ayurvedic Massage Therapist  (500 hours)

  5. Abhyanga Therapy (200 hours)

  6. Indian Head Massage (100 hours)

  7. Shirodhara (200 hours)

  8. Ayurvedic Facials (100 hours)

  9. Marma Therapy (200 hours)

  10. Panchakarma Therapy (500 hours)

In addition to the professional classes, there are perfecting courses offered:

  1. AWP advancement program

  2. Yoga Therapy courses

Personal Development Courses:

  1. Ayurvedic Nutrition - Basic Certicate


Application and registration

Places in each of the courses are limited due to keeping class sizes small. Applicants are suggested to apply early by email at info@instituteofayurvedaandwellness.com

Applicants are contacted for an interview with a senior member of the Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness before acceptance.

Acceptance is confirmed 2 months before the beginning of classes followed by registration.

Tuition

Tuition fees are listed in each of the course outlines. A full breakdown of the payment schedule is described in the student contract signed at the registration for the course. Upon registration, the deposit and registration fees are requested.

Each professional course has a $50 registration fee and also requires a $500 deposit that is deducted from the last course payment.

Failure to pay tuition fees on or by the agreed-updated dates will result in suspension from the course. Should the suspension last for more than 2 classes, a private catch-up course is highly suggested. Private classes are at the expense of the student.

Tuition does not include books or other materials.

All payments are non-refundable and do not include taxes. Tax receipts are supplied.

Instructors

The Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness entrusts the teaching of their courses to highly qualified teachers with extensive qualifications. Anita Sharma leads and designs each of the Ayurvedic courses and Manu Sharma creates the Yogic courses. Their team of teachers is carefully crafted in order to bring the best education to each student.

Attendance and class decorum

Attendance in class of above 85% of the total hours of the course is mandatory to attend the final exam.

Private catch-up classes are available and suggested for students who have missed more than 2 classes.

A significant portion of the practice of Ayurveda is spiritual and requires a respectful attitude at all times from each participant and instructors. Should there be conflict in the class or with specific individuals, it will be addressed verbally initially and on the third warning, will be in writing and could lead to dismissal from the course without refund of prior payments. The management of any issue lies with the leadership of the Institute of Ayurveda & Wellness and the solutions are entirely at their discretion in the hopes to satisfy all parties.

Materials and attire

In these courses, students are taught theory as well as practice. Therefore comfortable and yoga-appropriate clothing is recommended as well as a yoga mat. Details on required readings are given at registration and to be completed before the beginning of class. Students should be ready for note-taking with appropriate supplies.
